The Gipuzkoa festival returns at the beginning of October with a program that connects memory and present, recovering the sounds of the 90s and giving special prominence to female musicians and Basque projects.
For three days, from October 2 to 4, Zarautz will become a great musical stage, with concerts and sessions spread across different spaces in the city. For the first time in Euskadi there will be Brigitte Emaga with Soundara Collectivea female collective made up of 8 singers and musicians around Soul, Funk and Disco. That will be the night of the second day on Saturday. But first, the music will begin on Friday with the fusion of pop, soul, r&b and funk by the Aretxabaleta group Nhil. Then it will be the turn of a mythical band from Bizkaia, The Communist Tenantone of the most representative not only of Getxo Sound, but of state indie in the 90s; And to top off the evening they will be Gailuformed by musicians from key bands on the Basque scene (BAP!, Negu Gorriak, Anari, Inoren Ero Ni…), with their unapologetic fusion of styles.
On Saturday, before the shift Brigitte and Soundara Collective, the young Navarrese formation will download their proposals Odol Gaztea Brass Bandsurf rock The Cursed Waveand the veteran Bizkaitarra combo The Cherry Boppers next to Patricia Recklesspresenting their joint album.
On Sunday, maintaining the organization’s commitment to Basque musical creation and Basque, they will close the program Femmm Vocal Jazza formation composed of four female voices that explores the possibilities of harmony between Jazz and Pop.
