“Live On The Moon”, Sparks’ first official live performance

After a long career spanning five decades, Sparks They announce what will be their first official live show, “Live On The Moon”which will collect songs from different stages of his career.

If something has always characterized Sparks It is your ability to defy any expectation. After more than five decades reinventing pop, brothers Ron and Russell Mael surprise again with “Live On The Moon”their first official live album in a career that began in the late sixties. It will be released on August 14.

The album imagines a unique performance in the Taruntius crater, on the lunar surface, before an extraterrestrial audience that, according to Mael themselves, sold out all the tickets in just one hour. But beyond the narrative game, “Live On The Moon” It compiles twenty songs that cover different stages of the band’s career, presented by actress Cate Blanchett, who contributes to the album’s intro and outro.

The repertoire includes essential classics such as “This Town Ain’t Big Enough For Both Of Us”, “The Number One Song In Heaven” or “When Do I Get To Sing ‘My Way'”, along with more recent songs taken from their latest works. As a preview, they have already published the live version of “Whippings and Apologies”, a song originally included on the album. “A Woofer In Tweeter’s Clothing”, of 1972.

The release will be available on a special edition marbled double vinyl inspired by the lunar surface, as well as CD and digital formats.
