Rosalía has just finished the first concerts of the ‘LUX’ tour in Spain, where she will return on April 13 for her four dates in Barcelona. Today, the artist is recognized worldwide, having two Grammy Awards. Six and a half years ago, he had just released ‘El mal donder’ and all this was still in his head. Paco León has told on his Instagram how Rosalía had everything clear from the beginning.
The actor says in a post illustrated with videos of the ‘LUX’ tour that he met the artist “six and a half years ago.” We can deduce then that the story that León has told would have taken place around 2019. He says that he started listening to his music as a result of the song ‘Catalina’, from the album ‘Los Ángeles’, and that the day they met they went to see a “microtheater.”
Paco uses a phrase from Guitarricadelafuente to describe Rosalía in close proximity: “Sweet but crunchy like Catalan cream”, taken from the song ‘Agua y mezcal’. He remembers that, at that time, they only asked him for photos, before telling how he asked Rosalía “if she wasn’t stunned by the success of the album”: “No Paco, this is just the beginning. “I want to mix flamenco with electronics, and do a big show with dancers and I see myself in the United States winning a Grammy…”, says the actor.
If the dates are correct, Rosalía would win her first Grammy the following year, with ‘El mal Quiero’ taking the statuette for ‘Best Alternative or Latin Rock Album’. The same award was won in 2023 for ‘MOTOMAMI’. Paco León’s reaction to Rosalía’s prediction is hilarious: “But what is this crazy woman saying?” he says it crossed his mind. She clarifies that “she didn’t seem crazy,” but rather “she was very clear about it.”
He also recounts Rosalía’s prudent words right after: “Let’s see, it may not work out, but I have something to tell and I’m going to give my all to it,” León concludes, ending by saying that “the rest is history and you already know it.”
