Billman releases the “Moby Dick” preview

The Madrid band Billman presents “Moby Dick”, the second preview of what will be his first album, “Memories of my room”.

The truth is that, to listen, “Memories of my room” We will have to wait until February of next year, but that does not mean that we cannot have clues as to where the Madrid group is going to move in this first album that they will publish. They are good.

And what we are going to find will be a combination of melody and raw guitars that extend their expansive wave from a kind of alternative pop rock to a guitar sound that has drawn from post-punk and then takes more accessible paths. It is not in vain that the group recognizes influences from artists such as Interpol, The Cure, Strokes, Fontaines DC or Los Planetas.

“Moby Dick” talks about, in the group’s own words, chasing “something that never ends up appearing. It can be a person, an idea, a response or a version of yourself that you think exists somewhere, but that always seems to be far away. Taking its name from Herman Melville’s novel, the whale is the metaphor for the struggle with oneself and the need to find something that makes sense of the noise inside that we don’t know how to get out of. Because, in the end, maybe Moby Dick was never out there.”

Billman is a band from Madrid with an operations center in the Malasaña neighborhood that was born from Bruno Villapol’s need to bring live the songs that, for years, he had composed as a logbook or personal project. Starting from colder and more industrial beginnings, the sound became something more organic and bright with the arrival of Jorge (bass), Javi (guitar) and Edu (drums). It should also be noted that each of the songs on the album takes its title from literary works that have marked the life journey of the vocalist and composer, providing a solid and differentiating narrative sound identity.

For their second video clip, whose premiere will be on September 15, they have also had Jorge Monsalvoa magnificent director who has worked for bands such as Fontaines DC or La Milagrosa, and is part of a strategy of progressive publication of the album for the coming months.

The group will be performing today at the Sala Maravillas in Madrid, although tickets have been sold out for weeks.. His next concert will be September 26 at the REM Room in Murciaalthough new dates will be announced soon.
