We premiere “HHH”, the new album by Eneritz Furyak

The artist from Irún (Gipuzkoa) Eneritz Furyak This week he publishes his third album, produced from his own home-studio, with collaborations from nearby artists and with 9 songs that come from the post-calm.

Eneritz Furyak is back with “HHH”a new album in which change is already perceived from the first listen. Their proposal moves between pop, experimentation, roots, noise and current themes, creating an exceptional and magnetic synergy. “Argia”, their first preview, already showed us an evolution in sound and in their live set-up. The song was premiered by EITB Kultura, a live video, which shows what the concerts of this tour will be like. Textures of previous experiences on a new management of electronics. Between “Emadan” and “HHH” many things have happened: “Emaizkidan” – a compilation of remixes “Emadan”-, “Felis Katua” – a theme that starts from the poem “Felis katua” from the book “Zoonomy” by the writer Nerea Arrien. And she has also been immersed in the project “Paisaiak” (‘Landscapes’), focused on experimentation in different places in Europe. All of these, added to the artist’s routines, have been providing nuances to “HHH”. As she comments in the insert of the album: “And after the calm, without any tool or opportunity to get out of the whirlwind, voice melodies recorded on the mobile phone during car trips began to accumulate, pieces of lyrics here and there and some that other anti-satirical verses and chords left on the piano in the living room.”

All these experiences mark the steps of Eneritz’s artistic future, which can leave us with a synergy between experimentation, pop, tradition and hours of fiddling with synthesizers, framing personal and generational themes. A new album that contains a new sound of the irundarra; further away from post folk and closer to pop and even dance. We find more marked rhythms, percussions that appear and disappear creating dependencies and highlighting melodies. Melodies that could come from synthpop or references to people like Leonie Pernet, Juana Molina, Ela Minus, Lucrecia Dalt, Mansfield.TYA or CocoRosie. But you will also hear noise and elements whose objective is to distort the apparent clarity. And being the result of several fronts, “HHH” It is not just a handful of topics, but a cumulative whole, from different disciplines. We will find painting, with a cover that is the result of field work carried out by the Curacao artist Aidan Hermans. Danza, in one of his video clips previewing the album, “Luzaz”with choreography by the dancer Corine Cella and recorded by the video artist Itziar Garaluceand collaborations with musicians such as Hatxe, Fernando Sapo, Oriol Flores and Irazi.

The career of Eneritz Furyak has been in constant evolution since its inception. His early works are more influenced by sounds close to folk or author songs, with a more present acoustic guitar – “Eneritz Furyak” 2017 / “Zaldi Zuria” 2018 -. While with his previous album – “Emadan” 2021 – shows its most open side, which we describe as “a decalogue of post folk loaded with contemporary influences”, now in “HHH” compiles these 3 years of experimentation and releases (“Emaizkidan” 2023 / “Felis Katua” 2023 / “Paisaiak” – no release date) that have contributed pop, melodies, synthesizers and a slight grimace towards dance.
