The legend of disco funk and considered “queen of funk” Chaka Khan returns to the present with the single “Curious Subject”, accompanied by none other than his new appearance on A Colors Show.
Winner of eleven Grammys, member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and 2026 Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, Chaka Khan claims to be a fundamental figure for understanding American dance music. Influenced alone as with Rufus, the artist will have a new album on September 18. It will be “CHAKZILLA”of which he has been releasing previews to which is added this “Curious Subject”.
Co-written byr Chaka Khan, Sia and Greg Kurstinand produced by the latter, “Curious Subject” talks about growing up without necessarily having all the answers, embracing our contradictions, curiosity and the possibility of continuing to discover ourselves at any age.
The single release is rounded off with a new performance by Chaka Khan for A Colors, in which she performs the song. He previously appeared on the global music platform to perform “Through The Fire.” With these performances, Chaka Khan reaches new generations who will discover a voice that is part of the history of dance music.
At seventy-three years old, Chaka Khan has a very long career that began in the early seventies with Rufuson disk as “Rags To Rufus” (74), “Rufus featuring Chaka” (75) or “Ask Rufus” (77), and also alone from “Chaka” (78) and with a discography of more than a dozen albums such as “Naughty” (80), “I Feel For You” (84) or “Funk This” (07), to name a few.
