Vez Era is the new supergroup formed by Claudia from Niña Polaca, Luis from Cora Yako and Karavana, Senna from Cora Yako and Nadie Patín, Ruvén from RUVENRUVEN, Julio and Rob. With this project, Vez Era seeks to “break away from its usual approach to propose one that looks in another direction.”
In this respect, there are influences from indie-rock, dream-pop and post-rock from the eighties and nineties to the present day. The propulsion of ‘Por ti me muevo’, one of the first singles from Vez Era, is achieved with a mix of guitars, psychedelia and electronics. And its first single is named after ‘Annie Clark’, that is, the person behind St. Vincent.
Vez Era’s influences are mainly “international”. The press release mentions Sharon van Etten, Radiohead, Lana Del Rey and The National among the artists who inspire the group. It also mentions a band as current as Dry Cleaning, which is recalled in Vez Era’s new single, ‘Aparador’.
Claudia’s spoken voice on ‘Aparador’ is reminiscent of Florence Shaw, although the music on Song of the Day combines shoegaze guitars and keyboards in the style of Slowdive. With its changes of pace and its final crescendo, ‘Aparador’ is another success from Vez Era.
Claudia dissociates in ‘Aparador’ singing that, although she is accompanied by friends, her mind “is far away.” She connects but “is not there.” Speaking of not fitting into the world, the theme of ‘Aparador’ is also classic.
