‘They will be parking’ is one of those geniuses from Espanto

Espanto will be remembered by a majority because RTVE chose ‘Rock’n Roll’ for a tune, and by a minority for the traditional strength of its songs. There was, for example, ‘Photos with the authorities’.

Some of his compositions have recycled a popular saying to remind us that it meant the opposite. It was the case of ‘Let’s see if we see each other’, which actually meant more “let’s see if we see each other less” than “let’s see if we see each other more.” And this has been the case this fall with ‘They’ll be parking’, our Song of the Day for this Saturday.

Espanto’s new album, ‘Rumores’, was presented with a single called ‘The Last Rumor’. But it is ‘They will be parking’ that is called to be their new classic. “They’ll be parking” is what they say when someone arrives so late that you don’t know if they’re going to show up or not, and that’s the new motto of Teresa Jimeno and Luis Fernández Bayo in this parody that’s only 2 minutes long. .

The possibility that those we are waiting for have not even left home, and even the contemplation that not even those close to them were at home at all, star in this song with a comedic touch, linked to the most pizpireto 60’s, which starts right with the sound of a car “starting”.

Stanley Sunday, who has made videos for Javiera Mena, Fangoria, Manel, Papa Topo and Guillem Gisbert, and was in charge of that Doble Pletina film, is the director of a video clip that is very appropriate. Teresa and Luis appear multiplied around the car in question, unable to get out of there. If ‘Waiting for Godot’ could be a reference in the text, ‘The Exterminating Angel’ could be one in the video.
