Ya está en la calle el número de octubre de Mondo Sonoro

The October issue of Mondo Sonoro is now on the streets

We have started the distribution of the October issue of Mondo Sonoro, which features Murcians Sword Master as absolute protagonists of our cover.

In times in which roots are sometimes claimed in a somewhat pretentious way, “Master Sword” (Sony Music, 24) is one of those rare albums where the stars align organically. Brothers Alejandro and Víctor Hernández have put themselves in the hands of experienced musician and producer Raül Refree to complete a debut that shines in its uniqueness.

Fat Dog They are the new sensation from southeast London, and signed by the prestigious Domino label. His debut “WOOF.” (Domino/ Music As Usual, 24) combines chaotic electronics, Balkan melodies, wild surrealism and punk attitude in an unpredictable cocktail that could be placed between Viagra Boys, Underworld and The Fall.

We spoke with him on a Monday, but Pascual Cantero, better known as I bitefaces it with a different attitude: he publishes his sixth album, “Scoundrel” (Altafonte, 24), and that always dyes the days a very different color.

With urgency, luminosity and the same irreverence as always, the boys of Biznaga gather in “Now!” (Montgrí, 24), their new album, eleven demands that invite mobilization and the search for another reality, while remaining aware of the evils that plague their contemporaries.

Everything they have built is impressive. Been Stellar in such a short time. Opening for The 1975 or Fontaines DC, they do not stop jumping from word of mouth as one of the most promising bands of this year and the arrival of “Scream From New York, NY” (Dirty Hit/Music As Usual, 2024) has not done more than make the hype bigger.

Just a couple of minutes of conversation with Santi Balmes and Julián Saldarriaga from Love Of Lesbian to realize that friendship is their mother tongue. Not only because they have shared a common musical project for almost three decades, but because the connection between them is reflected in each of their phrases. AND “Salvation Army” (Warner, 24) is another proof of this.

“New symphony about chaos” (Laventura, 24) is the fifth album by Leon Benaventeand the most vital and electronic of his career. In half an hour it condenses the character of a band that claims its marked personality.

Alejandro Gillán as Baiucahas just presented his new album, “Hubbub” (Raso Estudio, 24). A much more electronic work, but one that maintains the purest essence of Galician. A nonconformist artist who maintains his humility despite his impact in recent times.

Bernard Butler He has gone down in history as the guitarist and co-composer of Suede’s first era, although the Londoner looks obsessively at the present and will be defending “Good Grief” (355 Recordings, 24) in our country.

The revolution of Meute continues breaking schemes. The Germans have been achieving worldwide success for nine years thanks to their techno marching band concept. Now they publish “EMPOR” (Tumult/ Neubau Music, 24), an album that they will present in our country.

And so far everything related to our most extensive interviews, although you can also find between the pages of the magazine, two articles about the British Deadletter and the spanish Geometric Splendor, in addition to our usual sections, and a PRO SPECIAL in which we present our project ‘Sound Observatorywith a series of articles dedicated to different aspects of the industry.

And like every month we leave you one playlist with all the contents of the issue, so that you can give the best soundtrack to your reading.
