On September 17 – one day later worldwide – the documentary series will premiere in the United States “Nöthin’ But a Good Time: The Uncensored Story of 80’s Hair Metal”inspired by the book of the same name that covers the golden years of the genre.
Hair metal combined hard rock, glam rock, hair, sequins and lots of fun, marking practically a decade in the history of rock and roll, mostly in the United States. Journalists Tom Beaujour and Richard Bienstock They signed the book“Nöthin’ But a Good Time: The Uncensored History of the Eighties Hard Rock Explosion” –published in Spain by the publisher Neo-Sounds– in which many of the movement’s great stars were interviewed. Musicians from all over the world appear on its pages. Poison, WASP, Ratt, Skid Row, Extreme, Cinderella, Guns N’ Roses, Twisted Sister, Winger, Mötley Crüe, Warrant, White Lion and even Def Leppard.
Now the book has been turned into a docuseries that will premiere on September 17th –and one day later internationally– through Paramount+ and which collects in three chapters the birth of a genre of surprising success and that marked a generation, leaving a mark that has aged in many aspects, but that remains fresh in others. So we will see a good part of those musicians talking about those years, with guests as well such as the comedian Steve-O (“Jackass”) either Corey Taylor (Slipknot), who signed the book’s prologue at the time.
The production is directed by Jeff Tremaine (known for his work in “Jackass” and “The Dirt”the film which in turn was inspired by the story of Mötley Crüe) and it will surely make us have a good time recovering those years or discovering them if we do not have too many references in this regard.
