The Divine Comedy, the beloved Baroque pop of Neil Hannon, will present a new album in Spain in 2026. The first date will be on March 5, 2026 at the Milanni Festival in the Apollo room in Barcelona and the second on March 7, 2026 at the Eslava Theater in Madrid. Tickets will go on sale on May 23 at 10 am and can be purchased through the Last Tour website.
‘Rainy Sunday Afternoon’, The Divine Comedy’s new album, is put on sale on September 19. Recorded in Abbey Road the past fall, the 13th band album “shows Neil Hannon in a reflexive mood, contemplating the past and the present with a hopeful look towards the future.”
The Divine Comedy comes from composing original songs for the soundtrack of ‘Wonka’, the last adaptation of this story starring Timothée Chalamet. Hannon explains that this experience has inspired his new album: «My musical production is, for better or worse, a representation of my personality. A good part of that personality delights in the bustling; Celebrate the absurd. I made a wide use of that for ‘Wonka’ songs. However, like everyone else, I have a darker and melancholic side. And for one reason or another, it has been very present lately. I needed to use this album as an escape for those feelings. To process some things. Mortality; memories; relationships; Political and social agitation. Everyone should have the opportunity to make an orchestral pop album from time to time. It should be covered by public health.
