The Cure They have been preparing a new album, something that seems to be confirmed, in addition to the concert film that will serve as a preview of the tour that the British will star in throughout next year.
Legendary British band The Cure have confirmed that they have recorded thirteen new songs as part of the successor to the successful *Songs Of A Lost World* (24), their acclaimed comeback album. The sessions took place at Rockfield Studios in March 2025, as recently updated in the group’s official biography on Wikipedia, something that dedicated fans recently discovered.
Additionally, Robert Smith is currently working on editing and mixing *The Show Of A Lost World*the concert film recorded at the iconic Troxy show in London, held in November 2024. This intimate concert, witnessed by figures such as Billie Joe Armstrong (Green Day) and actor Pedro Pascal, includes the complete live album, classics from his catalog, and a set dedicated to *Seventeen Seconds* (1980). In the meantime, you can enjoy *Mixes Of A Lost World*the remix album that was released in June of this year.
The band have also announced an extensive tour for 2026 which will include dates in the UK and Ireland, and will headline festivals including Primavera Sound, Rock Werchter, Øya and the Isle Of Wight.
On the other hand, Smith, now curator of the charity concert cycle Teenage Cancer Trustdoes not rule out a special presentation at the Royal Albert Hall. He also hinted that the band could remain active until 2029, the year in which they will celebrate their fiftieth anniversary: ”If I reach seventy, that’s where everything will end. But in the meantime, I want to keep playing.”
