The Cure announce livestream of Robert Smith’s “most personal album”

There’s less time left for the long-awaited ‘Songs Of A Lost World’, which will go on sale next November 1st. The Cure have announced today a concert to present the album in London, in a room of 3,000 people, which can also be seen from home completely free of charge. In addition, you can now read the first reviews of the album.

On the night of November 1, the legendary English group will perform the ‘Show Of A Lost World’, in which they will play the album in its entirety at the Troxy venue in London. Tickets for the concert will go on sale next October 17 at 4 p.m. in Spain. One pound from each ticket will go to the NGO War Child. For the rest of the world, the show can be seen for free on YouTube.

At the moment, the singles ‘Alone’ and ‘A Fragile Thing’ are already available on streaming platforms. In the concerts of their last tour we were also able to hear ‘Endsong’ and ‘And Nothing Is Forever’ live. However, the first reviews of the final versions are now available. NME has stated in its review that ‘Songs Of A Lost World’ is the “most personal album of Robert Smith’s career.”

The British outlet describes ‘And Nothing Is Forever’ as a “masterfully euphoric sigh” and equates it with classics like ‘Plainsong’ or ‘Pictures of You’. On the other hand, he details the “somber” ‘Warsong’ and ‘Drone_Nodrone’, which “feels like the mischievous cousin of ‘One Hundred Years’, ‘Burn’ and ‘Killing An Arab’.”
