English post-punk band The Chameleons They return after twenty-three years with a new EP, titled “Where Are You”. They are also preparing for a new album, “Arctic Moon”, for the end of this year.
The Manchester band reunited in 2021 for a 2022 live album “Edge Sessions (Live From The Edge)”which saw the group's lead singer and bassist Mark Burgess team up with guitarists Reg Smithies and Chris Oliver and the drummer Stephen Rice. The Chameleons They went on tour with the band from Los Angeles She Wants Revenge.
Now, The Chameleonshave released their new EP “Where Are You”. The singer Mark Burgess explains about the new work: “It's exciting to be able to release more new material from The Chameleons after twenty years, although at first it seemed a bit hasty. The question about new music is the one I've been asked the most by people coming to the shows, many of whom weren't even born when these records were originally made.”
The EP, which contains the song that gives it its name along with “Endlessly Falling” and “Forever”, will be the first taste of its next album “Arctic Moon”, apparently available later this year. It will be the first album of The Chameleons without its original battery John Lever –who died in 2017– and without the original guitarist Dave Fielding –who left the band in 1987–. The Chameleons They are also embarking on a tour to play their 1986 classic live. “Strange Times”.
