Tennis separate after “saying everything we wanted to say”

Tennis have announced an “indefinite break” that will arrive after the departure of their next album, ‘Face Down in the Garden’, available on April 25. The announcement comes the same day as the launch of its new single, ’12 Blown Tires’.

The duo describes the creation of this song as “distilling the last 15 years in four minutes of music”: “He felt like the end of something, although he was not herself of what,” says Alaina. “After finishing ‘Face Down in the Garden’, it was clear that we had said everything we wanted and that we had achieved everything we wanted to get with our band,” reads the statement, which can be read completely in the description of the new video clip.

«This will be our last album, at least in this configuration as Tennis. We are ready to pursue other creative projects and to make space in our lives for new things, ”they announce, before clarifying that their activity as Tennis will end after their next American tour.

‘Face Down in the Garden’ will be Tennis’s seventh album, which began their record career in 2011 with ‘Cape Dory’. Since then, they have launched five more works: ‘Young and Old’ (2012), ‘Ritual in Repeat’ (2014), ‘Yours Conditionally’ (2017), ‘Swimmer’ (2020) and ‘Pollen’, in 2023.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJP8VWR53ai
