Tame Impala has shared the dates of the European tour of ‘Deadbeat’, his fifth album. Spain is one of the lucky countries: Kevin Parker will present ‘Deadbeat’ on April 7 at the Movistar Arena in Madrid and April 8 at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona. Jenesaispop is an official half.
Tickets will be put on sale in Faver from October 3 at 10 am for both concerts. In addition, a presale for fans has been enabled through the Tame Impala website.
‘Deadbeat’ is published on October 17. Includes the 7 -minute tecno single ‘End of Summer’, as well as the most recognizable ‘Loser’ and ‘Dracula’.
If ‘Loser’ recovered the guitar psychedelia of the first albums of Tame Impala, ‘Dracula’ points to the dance sophistication of ‘The Less I Know The Better’ or ‘Borderline’. At least, the melody is equally snapshot and catchy.
As designed for Halloween, which is approaching, ‘Dracula’ speaks of a love enjoyed “in the dark” of the night and the disc-house production includes bells and other effects Halloweenescos. Has Kim Petras been an influence? Parker is Dracula, of course, because “flee from light” to take refuge in the arms of the loved one. In his role as a fugitive, he compares his charisma with that of the “fucking Pablo Escobar” … only to bother her friends: “Shut up, Kevin, Just get in the car,” they answer.
‘Dracula’ is presumably dedicated to Sophie Lawrence, wife of Kevin Parker and mother of her daughter, Peach, born in 2022 and appears on the cover of ‘Deadbeat’, held by the Australian, in a tender image designed in black and white.
