Swedish tourist jokes about religious sects

Swedish Tourist invites us to a spiritual rave with “Stockholm Syndrome” and a video clip that immerses us in a traditional version of “Midsommar”.

Extravagant, ironic and fun, Swedish Tourist They mix pop and electronica with a punk attitude and lyrics as absurd as they are sharp. Their latest single “Stockholm Syndrome” invites us to join a sect where nothing is what it seems: “It’s not religion, although it borrows its rituals. They don’t want your money, although you would pay to enter. It’s not scary, but you’ll have a great time. It’s a wonderful dysfunctional rave.”

“Stockholm Syndrome” also arrives accompanied by a video clip in which the duo joins a style sect Midsommarbut in its most traditional version. Kevin Gallego (the same one who signed “You will learn” from Rigoberta Bandini) presents a bizarre and overwhelming vision where kidnapping becomes pagan liberation. The video begins with two “witnesses” trying to preach the faith door to door, until they stumble upon the wrong one: a much more festive community, where the liturgy becomes a rave, the commandments become blasphemy, and devotion becomes pure chaos.

After four years of being active, this 2025 will see the light of day a first studio album by Swedish Tourist. An album from which, in addition to “Stockholm Syndrome”, they have already released singles such as “Discokebab” or “I have TDH”. With references like Putilatex, The Steaks either Russian Crabthe duo transforms the banal into a party of dark circles and glitter, where social criticism and mismatch go hand in hand. As they say, it is “Stunning to survive.”
