Suga fined for drunk driving on electric scooter

BTS member Suga has apologized to his fans after being fined for drunk driving an electric scooter in Seoul and having his license suspended, Billboard reports.

Suga explained that he took the electric scooter after having a few drinks and that, by using a scooter – instead of a motorcycle or a car – and being near his home, he was unaware that he was breaking traffic laws. When Suga arrived at the door of his home, he was approached by a police officer who performed a breathalyzer test and fined him.

“Although no one was hurt and no street equipment was damaged during this incident, I apologize to all of you as it is my responsibility and cannot be justified in any way,” the South Korean singer added in his statement posted on Weverse. “I apologize to anyone I have harmed with my actions and will be more careful in the future.”

In a separate statement, BIG HIT, BTS’s record label, has apologized for “the disappointment that Suga’s inappropriate behavior” “may have caused” and has reminded that Suga is still fulfilling his military service: “Suga is a social service agent during his military service and, therefore, is willing to accept any disciplinary action applied to him from his workplace for causing a social disturbance,” the label added.

Although BTS members are currently serving their military service, that isn’t stopping them from releasing new music. Jimin is making waves with his single ‘Who’, although his recently released album ‘Muse’ is raising more eyebrows. Suga’s debut album, ‘D-Day’, signed under the alias Agust-D, came out last year.
