We were heroes It is the second advance single from the fourth album by Subtonic. An album that will be called “What's left” and that it will be released after the summer. We premiere the excellently made video clip that illustrates it.
Javier Estévez, founding member, drummer and lyricist of the defunct Córdoba band Estirpe, now leads Subtonic and presents us with an elegant rock song, with dark overtones and 90s touches, with exquisite production and a depth in the truly exciting message: “although no one says it, we were heroes.” A therapeutic anthem, of hope, of recognition and appreciation of those who were shocked when “the explosion came.” To stop blaming ourselves. A song that focuses on what it means to live through traumatic experiences, especially in stages of great fragility, making us different for life.
Estévez, with his characteristic humanism, provides elements throughout the song to “find the crack” and “discover the light, making effort a virtue.” The struggle and overcoming will make the difference, because in the end we are the reflection of how we fit things together.
The song is accompanied by this excellent video clip shot by 3visual in the snow, entirely in the Pyrenees (Vall de Inglés, Vall de Rialb, Ordino Alcalís and Coll de la Botella). Premiere on MondoSonoro.
