Has Bad Bunny made a mistake with the 'I should have thrown more photos' singles?

Music news

Sorry, ‘unforgettable dance’ had not yet been CDD

In each and every one of Bad Bunny’s albums we have attended a debate on what should be the singles. To give a quick example, ‘Safaera’, the song that changed the rules and structures of the evil called «Reggaeton», was not one of the 9 official singles of ‘Yhlqmdlg’.

To the edition of ‘I had to throw more photos’, we pointed out how badly chosen the album singles were. ‘The Club’ has gone relatively unnoticed, and ‘coconut pitorro’ was just a way of celebrating Christmas and Jíbara music. ‘I’m going to take pa Pr’, played in the Jimmy Fallon program, was not the favorite either.

Soon other songs began to gain ground: ‘I had to throw more photos’ went viral in Tiktok, among millions of shared galleries, and on the web we also bet on the suggestive production of ‘Nuevayol’, which speaks of “Reggaeton and Dembow”, but it has many other things … like salsa.

Speaking of sauce, in the long run, the background has won it ‘unforgettable dance’ and therefore it is our song of the day today. Despite its 6 minutes, ‘unforgettable dance’ is being the great survivor of the album in the official Spanish Top 10 (where right now goes up 5 after four months), or even in the Global of Spotify (where right now goes up to Top 9).

We are facing Bad Bunny’s great song. In this album the artist makes several tributes to genres that have emerged from or triumphed in Puerto Rico, and the sauce has always been one of his favorites. This “unforgettable dance” is, instead, very sad. As in other parts of this album, Benito, who as usual has written the subject completely alone, speaks of a love that he has not been able to forget or overcome. “I thought that with you I was going to age / in another life, in another world it may be,” he begins, before the choir of male voices underlines, bitter: “I cannot forget you / I cannot erase you / You taught me to love,” constituting a instant classic that dance at weddings, baptisms and communions.

Given the wind instruments and piano alone contributed by the Ernesto Ramos Antonini de San Juan music school, it is impossible to imagine an interpretation of this song canned in the tour that will come to Spain in 2026 and is about to start in Puerto Rico. They will be up to 10 dates in the largest stadium in Madrid and 2 in the largest stadium in Barcelona. We need to see a “big band” at the head of it, like the ones we met Juan Luis Guerra. You have to listen to the wisdom of our elders and also give love to the public. The filmmaker Jacobo Morales, who starred in the short film in the promotion of the album, against gentrification, says it in this very clear song: “While one is alive / one must love as much as possible.”
