Shakira announces her new dates in North America after expanding capacity

Shakira had to perform almost twenty concerts in the United States and Canada between November 2 and December 15. It was the beginning of the long-awaited ‘Women No Longer Cry World Tour’, in which the hits of their entire career would be reviewed, including those from their latest album or the new ‘Soltera’, current top 5 in Spain.

Due to high demand, the concerts, which were going to take place in arenas and pavilions of about 15,000 people, will move to large stadiums of 50,000. However, in order to relocate appropriately, the shows will no longer take place this fall, but rather next May.

This is how Shakira excuses herself: «As Live Nation has communicated, my production has grown to such a magnitude, as well as the demand for tickets and more shows, that it has exceeded the most optimistic expectations. So much so that the tour in North America now requires stadiums and more dates, to be able to reach more of you, which is why it has been moved to May 2025. The new dates appear at the end of this article.

Aware of what it will mean for her followers, on a logistical level, the singer indicates: “Thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting me at this moment in my career. I know that many of you have made great efforts to be part of these concerts. Your understanding and affection mean a lot to me and help me continue breaking barriers. I look forward to celebrating together. I promise to give you my all and offer you the most special show of my life. The one they deserve! With all my love and gratitude, Shakira.”

Despite her explanation, Shakira’s followers are flooding her Instagram account with messages indicating what this delay is going to cost them. A message with hundreds of “likes” indicates: “It’s not fair to the fans who already had specific seats. The stadiums are gigantic and the view is much worse.” Another message reads: “And now who will return the money I paid for the hotel I booked in San Antonio?”

In any case, what has happened with Shakira is the other side of the coin of what was happening this year with her Super Bowl partner, Jennifer Lopez. She had to cancel her tour citing family problems – which we would later learn was her divorce – amidst rumors that she had not sold enough tickets. It seems that Shakira’s successful collaborations with Bizarrap and Karol G have made the difference between the two.

‘Las Mujeres No Ya Lloran World Tour’ begins on February 11 in Rio de Janeiro, and then reaches Peru, Colombia, Chile, Argentina and Mexico. The latter will occur at the end of March. At the moment there are no dates in Europe, but they are expected for later. As for the new North American dates, you can find them here, and the pre-sale takes place between October 22 and 25.
