Schedules for the final of the 13th edition of Rockein

This Saturday, November 1, Azeituna with bones, Keax, Reeler, Jaimones, Kruddö and Silkat will perform at the Social Antzokia in Basauri in the final of Rockin.

Next Saturday, November 1, the final of the thirteenth edition of the musical competition will be held at the Social Antzokia in Basauri Rockinorganized by the Basauri City Council, with the collaboration of the Department of Culture, Euskara and Sports of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, and aimed at bands and soloists from Euskadi and Navarra.

The Gipuzkoan band Azeituna with Bones (electronic, pop, jazz); the Biscayan trio Keax (former members of The Owl Project with influences such as LCD Soundsystem or Ratatat); and Reeleran alternative rock quartet made up of musicians from Bizkaia, Poland, England and Ireland, based in Bilbao, are the three candidates to win the main prize of the thirteenth edition of Rockin.

The other three finalist bands will be Jaimones (70s-80s American rock quartet that includes a member of Basauri); Krudöa hard rock and stoner duo, composed of Jon Ander Santamaría from Bermeo and Txaber Miravalles, a native of Etxebarri; and Silkatan indie rock trio with musicians from Bilbao and Galdakao and influences from The Cure or Radiohead. These three bands will compete for the Hego Uribe Best Artist award, which rewards those projects with at least one member registered in Basauri, Arrigorriaga, Etxebarri, Galdakao, Ugao-Miraballes, Usansolo or Zaratamo.

As usual, access to the final will be free (with an invitation to withdraw on the Social Antzokia website or at the box office), the theater seats will be standing room and there will be bar service with popular prices. The identity of the winning projects in the 5 Rockein categories (including those of the Bizkaia Prize, Best Artist in Basque and the Eskarabillera Prize) will be announced directly by the jury after the final. The 2025 edition of Rockein has had 196 artists register, marking a new Rockein participation record for the tenth consecutive year.

On the eve of the first day of MAZ Basauri 2025on Thursday, November 6, at 6:00 p.m., the second installment of ‘Women and the music industry’. The annual series of talks organized by Rockein, MAZ Basauri and Marienea seeks to share the experiences of women in the music industry with other women, with the aim of promoting a greater female presence in the sector and on stage. In 2025 the protagonists will be the Navarrese artist The Fury; Ibone IzaBIME Pro content manager; and Maite Alañadirector of MAZ Basauri and Rockein. The talk will be led by the journalist and writer Emilia Arias (TVE, Pikara Magazine) and will be free to access.
