Rockein 2024 is here: these are the schedules

This weekend the final of the band competition is held Rockinwhich will feature the performances of the six finalists in the Principal categories and Hego Uribe in the Social Antzokia by Basauriwith standing seats and free access.

This coming Saturday, November 16, the final of the 12th edition of Basauri will be held at the Social Antzokia in Basauri (free access with invitation). Rockin with the performances of its six finalists. The multidisciplinary artist from Bilbao participates in the main category Ben Santana (trap, rap, hip-hop), finalist also in 2023; the duo Edgar Allan Popcomposed by Beatriz Álvaro from Alava and Jaime Buenaventura from Madrid; and Galderthe solo debut of Galder Izagirre from Irunda, drummer for leading Basque rock bands such as Berri Txarrak, Kuraia and Dut.

In the Hego Uribe category, aimed at projects with at least one member registered in Basauri, Arrigorriaga, Etxebarri, Galdakao, Ugao-Miraballes, Usansolo or Zaratamo, they will participate The Empty Fridgea pop-rock quartet that includes a member of Etxebarri; the young Basaurian Maialen Ibarrawho recently presented his first EP ‘Nire egia zuen ezpainetan’; and Monday Potionsa project with Eneko Peña at the helm and members from Etxebarri, Bilbao and Santurtzi, which is reactivated in quartet format and with an eclectic musical proposal that ranges from baroque pop to art rock.

Besides, Edgar Allan Pop will also be eligible for the Eskarabillera award, and Galder and Maialen Ibarra, for the Best Artist in Basque award. As usual, the identity of the winning projects in the 4 Rockein categories (including Best Artist in Basque and the Eskarabillera Award) will be announced directly by the jury after the final.

As a novelty, at 12:30 p.m. MAZ Basauri and Rockin have organized, in collaboration with Marieneathe Basauri Women’s House, a talk about women and the music industry, with the presence of Nara Pintopromoter at the prestigious Primavera Sound festival, and Maite Alañadirector of MAZ Basauri and Rockein

On July 11, the registration period for the twelfth edition of Rockein closed, the musical competition aimed at soloists and bands from the Basque Autonomous Community and Navarra, organized by the Basauri City Council. 195 artists have registered, marking a new Rockein participation record for the ninth consecutive year.

The professional jury of this edition is made up of Arantzazu Pinto ‘Nara’ (hiring artists at Primavera Sound), Jon Agirrezabalaga (producer and sound engineer at El Tigre Studios. Musician and composer at WAS and Zabala), Anne Salazar (coordinator and manager recruitment at BIME Live), Iker Bárbara (coordinator of the Euskal Herria and La Rioja edition of MondoSonoro magazine, promoter and DJ) and Jon Zugazagoitia (Councillor for Youth, Sports and IT City Council of Basauri).
