The Granada band Sarajevo ’84 publish today “Celtic cross”, the focus track and new video clip from their long-awaited album The After Partywhich will be released tomorrow, October 16. With this song, the group closes the circle of advances and presents the best possible letter of introduction for an album that consolidates them as one of the most stimulating proposals of new national rock.
Produced by Carlos Hernandez Nombela (The Planets, Bizarre Love Triangle, Long Live Sweden), The After Party It represents a step forward in the band’s sound. Recorded at the German Castle, the album is made up of ten songs in English that move between alternative rock and danceable post-punk, with influences from Arctic Monkeys, Bloc Party or Wet Leg. Topics like LOVE ME, City Lights, Mr Misfit either Up Till The End They had already anticipated the potential of the album, which now finds its definitive form.
Celtic cross is an energetic and infectious song that tells of a meeting in Galway where the border between friendship and attraction is symbolized in the gift of a Celtic cross. The song captures the entire essence of the group: sharp guitars, melodic choruses and a spirit that invites movement.
The launch comes accompanied by a video clip directed by Almadeneawhich transports the viewer to Galway itself. The video mixes the lyric video format with the traditional video clip, showing the band acting and dancing between emblematic stages of the Irish city, such as the Spanish Arch or the legendary Róisín Dubh pub, direct references to the lyrics. With a gothic and rainy aesthetic, full of Celtic symbols and Irish greens, the audiovisual work balances mystery and dynamism, reflecting the emotional duality of the song.
The album’s artwork, created by the designer from Pamplona Rosa Olaguereinforces this nocturnal and carefree character with the image of a disheveled dog after a long night: visual metaphor of the title The After Party. The album will be available in digital and vinyl formats starting tomorrow.
Sarajevo ’84 will present the album on an extensive tour with dates in Linares (10/11), Granada (10/19), Torremolinos (11/08), Córdoba (11/14), Madrid (11/29, double date at Marilian Records and Siroco), Granada (12/20), Almería (01/31), Gibraltar (02/27) and Puerto de Santa María (02/28).
