Sabrina Carpenter is taking special care of the aesthetic aspect of the era of ‘Man’s Best Friend’, her latest album. Both videos and performances – not to mention the controversial album cover – are being memorable, and Carpenter’s appearance on Saturday Night Live this weekend has been no exception.
Carpenter has offered the opening monologue, interacting directly with the audience, and has participated in numerous sketches: in one of them he has parodied ‘The Fate of Ophelia’ by Taylor Swift, ‘Abracadabra’ by Lady Gaga and ‘Ordinary’ by Alen Warren. In another, she has participated in a seminar to be a true “boss” that ends very badly.
Of course, Carpenter has performed, and he hasn’t offered the typical live performance with a band and that’s it (nor did Doja Cat recently). For ‘Manchild’ he made a live video clip, recreating a teenage room, playing in a very fun way with the plans.
For ‘Nobody’s Son’, the protagonist has been two fighters who practice karate from a Japanese-style room, rather than Sabrina herself.
