We are pleased to announce the official launch of the AETHOS integrated stereo amplifier.
The Aethos stereo stereo amplifier features a new custom designed housing.
Employing four 160 W, 16 A per channel output transistors, this delivers 156 W per channel at 6 Ω.
A dual mono design using a custom wound toroidal transformer and regulated supplies for the sensitive amplification and driver stages.
The preamplifier stage uses discrete class A circuitry throughout.
The Aethos is a product without compromise with one goal, to deliver your music as faithfully as possible.
Built to Rega’s high standards of reliability and quality to ensure many years of musical enjoyment.
Our time, effort and money have been spent developing the circuit and construction using the highest specification of components. As part of the design, we have included useful features such as switchable direct input and preamp output, to allow the new Aethos amplifier to be used in a wide mix of systems. The headphone jack has been integrated in such a way that speaker switching is done by the output mute relay so as not to obstruct the signal path and degrade sound quality. We have chosen not to include a phono stage to keep this product true to its objectives without compromise. Rega has taken the design concepts behind the award-winning and successful Elex-R and Elicit-R, and pushed performance to the next level with features like a fully discrete FET-based line amplifier, polypropylene capacitors throughout of signal, K-Power reservoir capacitors, power amplifier regulated supply and a high current output stage comprising four 160 watt per channel Sanken output transistors.
This product has been designed to accompany the Aura MC stage and the Planar 10 (with Apheta 3 MC) to create a system that offers far superior performance.
