Last year, Ralphie Choo’s ‘Supernova’ entered the Spanish album chart at number 48 thanks solely to its plays on streaming platforms. This Monday, the vinyl edition of ‘Supernova’ takes the album to number 1 in our country. Naturally, ‘Supernova’ is the best-selling vinyl of the week.
It is a historic success for the Madrid-based label Rusia-IDK, which is made up of a few artists in the manner of a collective, recently associated with projects by other singers such as Amaia, Israel Fernández or Natalia Lacunza.
Accustomed to leading the Spanish album charts, this time, Cepeda falls far short of this goal and places his new album, ‘Contradicción’, at number 12. Cepeda had been number 1 in Spain with ‘Principios’, his debut, in 2018, and with ‘Con los pies en el suelo’, his second album, in 2020. However, number 1 resisted him in 2022 with ‘Sempiterno’, which could not beat Bad Bunny.
Another notable entry on the album list is Karavana. The trio from Madrid, known for hits that were much loved at festivals such as ‘Strokes’ or ‘Resaca pop’, has placed its second album, ‘Entre amores y errores’, at number 39. An album, by the way, released by the independent label Vanana Records although licensed to a multinational, BMG.
Chencho Corleone, the well-known reggaeton singer, stars in the latest entry on the list with ‘Solo’, which ranks at number 33.
Finally, it is worth mentioning the fact about Maestro Espada: his self-titled debut debuted at number 6 on the vinyl chart, although it failed to enter the global list.
