Power strips with mains filtering IsoTek V5 Gemini, V5 Polaris and V5 Corvus

The renowned British firm IsoTekone of the world leaders in products for the network signal processing in Hi-Fi and Home Cinema systems, has just announced the market launch of three new power strips with network filtering integrated into its V5 range: the V5 Gemini, the V5 Polaris and the V5 Corvus. With compact dimensions, the new IsoTek are fundamentally differentiated by their size and the number of power suppliers (each of them referring to the internal main printed circuit board) that they incorporate, specifically two for the V5 Gemini, six for the V5 Polaris and nine for the V5 Corvus.

But what is really critical about these three new power strips is a conception that differentiates them of the vast majority of its competitors, which connect the different power outlets in series. IsoTek believes that such approach is a mistakebecause the Noise in Differential Mode (created by the load connected to the power strip, that is, the components of our equipment) will cause cross contamination between these shots, something that is impossible to happen in the new V5s. On the other hand, both the V5 Gemini, the V5 Polaris and the V5 Corvus are equipped with a Exclusive Delta filtering topology ten times greater than the standard, in order to offer more than 20 dB of cleanliness in the network signal at 1 kHz, a figure that rises up to 42 dB at 10 kHz.

In this sense, it is important to know that the experts most prestigious agree that it is at 10 kHz where interference of radio frequency (RFI) begin to influence performance, a phenomenon that is linked to the ability of an amplifier to reject noise coming from the power supply. IsoTek’s sophisticated engineering ensures top level performance when cleaning both the Common Mode noise (RFI) like the noise in Differential Mode present in the power signal, thanks to a unique circuit that supplies a pristine network signal to the power outlets, which in turn are isolated from each other to avoid the aforementioned cross contamination.

In combination with the sophisticated KERP scheme (“Kirchoff’s Equal Resistance Path”) from IsoTek, this solution ensures the same resistance and the same power delivery to all outlets. Also the Printed circuit board The main one of these three new power strips is very special, containing twice as much copper as usual and being coated in silver, to which we must add a very high quality internal wiring with silver-plated oxygen-free copper conductors and a FEP (“Fluoratined Ethylene Propylene”) dielectric. Finally, let us point out that the V5 Gemini, the V5 Polaris and the V5 Corvus (the last two models are supplied with an IsoTek Initium network cable) provide instant protection against maximum currents of 45,000 amperes through the exclusive sequential protection system from Isotek, while including an output socket System Link to facilitate the connection of multiple units, maintaining a star ground connection and avoiding the need for multiple wall outlets.
