Dry Cleaning, the Post-Punk band in southern London known for their debut ‘New Long Leg’ (2021), and then author of the album ‘Stumpwork’ (2022), has announced its third album. ‘Secret Love’ will be produced by the favorite producer of the current indie, the Scottish Cate Le Bon, who has just published her own album, ‘Michelangelo Dying’. Returning to Dry Cleaning, ‘Secret Love’ will put into circulation on January 9, 2026.
Florence Shaw’s apathetic voice takes prominence in ‘Hit My Head All Day’, a rhythmic single of six minutes that unfolds in a hypnotic and overwhelming crescendo. ‘There’s a Riot Goin’ On ‘(1971) by Sly & The Family Stone has been his main influence.
Why does Shaw give “headers against the wall?” Dry Cleaning says that the inspiration of ‘Hit My Head All Day’ is the misinformation that he campaates on social networks; It is understood that it speaks of the way in which the bulles are able and get the population to distrust what has been tested.
“The song is about the manipulation of the body and mind,” explains the artist. «The lyrics were initially inspired by the use of misinformation in social networks by the extreme right. There are powerful people who seek to influence our behavior for their own benefit, so that we buy certain things or vote in a certain way. I find it difficult to read people’s intentions and decide who to trust, even in everyday life. It is easy to fall under the influence of a strange sinister who looks like a friend ». However, Shaw indicates that the group “addressed the song playful.”
Coincidentally, Dry Cleaning is about to play in Spain. The band will act on three consecutive dates: on October 23 in Madrid (Barceló Theater), on October 24 in Valencia (Crazy Club) and October 25 in Barcelona (Pararal·lel 62).
