Pitchfork excludes Beyoncé and Billie Eilish from its 2024 Albums list

As usual, Pitchfork released its list of the best Records of the Year today, one day after revealing its Songs of the Year. The list is crowned by the immense ‘Diamond Jubilee’ by Cindy Lee, one of the biggest surprises of 2024.

If it weren’t for Cindy Lee, Charli xcx would have taken number 1 on the chart with ‘BRAT’. From this album, the American media chose the remix with Lorde as the 9th best song of the year. Jessica Pratt and her ‘Here In The Pitch’ take third place, while Waxahatchee appears at number 6. ‘Right Back To It’ was the second best song of the year for Pitchfork.

The rest of the list is marked by the absence of the great pop divas. Kali Uchis appears at number 36, Sabrina Carpenter at number 35 and Clairo at number 21. Vampire Weeknd also stands out at number 26 and Magdalena Bay at number 19. From Beyoncé, Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande, Dua Lipa or Taylor Swift, neither trace.

We remind you that JENESAISPOP will publish its own lists in a 128-page full-color fanzine around December 20. You can now reserve in our online store.
