PinkPantheress, for the first time without autotune in his tiny desk

Pinkpantheress has made its debut in Tiny Desk, and it has not been left out other than doing without autotune. She herself has admitted during the concert that it was her “first performance without autotune.” Thanks to some effective arrangements and the natural sweetness of her voice, the British artist has left airy.

After a minimalist versions of ‘Attracted To You’, in which the harmonica has also touched, and ‘Pain’, Pinkpantheress admits that he was close to rejecting NPR’s offer when he was told that he could not use anything to modify his voice: “I told them that I was going to look for a solution and see how it is going.”

“Song very short, so if you think you are going to sneeze, it is time to leave the room,” jokes the artist at the beginning of the set, but without telling any lie. The electronic tones to which we have accustomed us in your voice are replaced by a natural sweetness. However, what rounds the show are the great arrangements of the songs.

In this sense, ‘Illegal’ stands out, which becomes a totally atmospheric piece, with jazz touches in percussion, and in which guitar arpegios charge all the prominence. In total, Pinkpantheress and his band play 13 songs, being one of the longest tiny desk setlists: “They told me I had 20 minutes, so I thought I would give time to 50 songs.”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56fjw8huguu
