The AIEnRuta cycle, which celebrates concerts throughout the country (and some abroad, there is one by Grande Amore in Mexico), continues this fall. Among the artists who are holding shows these months, we have selected – as we already told you – Trashi, Le Parody, Los Bengala, Alavedra and many other more urban proposals (KYR4) or even jazz (Hilario Rodeiro).
The objectives of AIEnRuta are “to promote cultural exchange between artists from all autonomous communities, promote all musical styles that occur within popular music, make new artistic values known by providing them with a framework for expression, at the same time provide a vehicle of expression to recognized artists of great musical quality, promote private initiative and create a consolidated winter circuit.” More than 5,000 concerts by 1,000 artists have been held since 1995, with an attendance of more than 300,000 spectators.
Among those “recognized artists of great musical quality”, this week we especially recommend the case of Pauline en la Playa. The duo of sisters Mar and Alicia Álvarez, emerged from the ashes of Undershakers, left the indie labels behind to offer an exquisite author song that is absolutely timeless and universal. With influences such as Vainica Doble and first cousins of Nosoträsh, they released highly recommended albums such as ‘Tormenta de ranas’, ‘Silabario’ or ‘Física del luggage’.
Lately they have spaced out their releases more, since 6 years passed between ‘The world is going to end’ (2013) and ‘The jump’ (2019). But his 2024 album, ‘The Long Days’, was more than recommendable, with certain country approaches that not only splashed into the single ‘I Could Be John Wayne’ but also into the excellent ‘Que Te Parta Un Ray’.
As part of the AIEnRuta cycle, Pauline en la Playa perform this Thursday, November 13 at the Delicias Cultural Center in Zaragoza. Details and other concerts, on the official website.
