On November 8 and 9, a new edition of MIRA Festival will be held in Barcelona, the international Digital Arts festival that since its creation has brought to the Catalan capital some of the leading names in global avant-garde electronics and music. This weekend, the Fira Montjuïc venue will once again host concerts, audiovisual shows, installations, DJ sets and immersive experiences, using a poster that is once again very cool in design and content.
Among the proposals confirmed at MIRA Festival this year is that of Kim Gordon, who, a galaxy away from her mother band, Sonic Youth, will present her personal approach to trap on the album ‘The Collective’. AG Cook will also appear in Barcelona to show who is the true king of PC Music, that other ‘Britpop’.
Bicep, one of the leading names in current British dance, will also be at MIRA to showcase his audiovisual show ‘CHROMA’, pure “dreamy ecstasy”, which will be the return to the stage of one of its two members, Matthew McBriar, after his recent health problems. Another boy duo, British Murder Boys, will offer the opposite of aggressive and hard techno.
Among the names to be highlighted on the MIRA poster are also those of two veterans to take into account, on the one hand, Carl Stone, who will present his mastery with computer music, and Suzanne Ciani, electronic pioneer and nominee to five GRAMMYs, who will present an audiovisual show with Desilence.
The jumping electronics of Lorenzo Sienni, the reinvention of Egyptian music by Nadah El Shazly, the expanded sculpture of Marc Vilanova or the sonic geometries of RRUCCULLA also feature in the eclectic and interesting programming of MIRA, among other proposals. Subscriptions are still available.
