MIA takes credit for part of Adele’s success: “She followed my guideline”

MIA has said that Adele followed her “guideline” to succeed in the music industry, back in 2008, and “not Beyoncé’s”, in a curious message published on statement, she would be “a racist and a liar.”

MIA’s message responds to a conspiracy video about Beyoncé that points out Knowles for allegedly “killing” several industry rivals who did not thank the ‘Halo’ singer for her triumphs, such as Amy Winehouse or Aaliyah. Adele, who appears in the same video thanking Beyoncé while collecting her Grammy for Album of the Year, is supposedly saved. An absurd video that does not deserve more attention.

However, MIA has taken advantage of the viral video to affirm that Adele has nothing to thank Beyoncé for, but she does have her.

The author of ‘Kala’ (2007) uploads a screenshot of Adele’s bio on Wikipedia that explains how Adele came to be signed by XL Recordings and work with her current manager, Jonathan Dickins, and clarifies what, according to her, really happened . «Adele signed with my agent at XL Recordings. “I introduced Jonathan (Dickins) to the label, and he became Adele’s manager thanks to MIA. Adele signed with XL Recordings because they signed me first.”

MIA continues: “So, Adele came to work in the United States because XL Recordings was making a name for itself thanks to me. All the labels in the United States loved XL because in 2008 MIA was the big thing and became mainstream. If Adele denies this then she is a racist and a liar. (Adele) should thank God, because it’s thanks to God that I had the ability to break barriers in 2004. Because (the labels) were racist and manipulative before and they still are now. Yes, Adele may have wanted to be Beyoncé, but she followed my guideline for success in the industry, not Beyoncé’s. This is a fact.”

Below, MIA shares one last observation: “Back in the day, most girls either slept with Diplo or found my team.” And he concludes: “Beyoncé didn’t let anyone in.”
