Mayra Gómez Kemp, historic presenter of ‘Un, dos, tres’, dies

Mayra Gómez Kemp, the longest-lasting presenter of the program ‘Un, dos, tres’, died this Sunday at the age of 76, according to Vanitatis. The news comes 9 days after she suffered a serious fall at her home for which she spent “18 hours on the floor” until she was transferred to the hospital and admitted for a few hours.

Born in Havana in 1948, Kemp replaced Kiko Ledgard for six consecutive years on the TVE program, from 1982 to 1988, winning three TP de Oro and breaking a glass ceiling for all presenters in the world: «If I take it But, all the ones who have presented later would not have done it,” he declared in the program ‘My house is yours’.

The presenter faced two cancers during her life. The first, tongue, was diagnosed in 2009. In 2012, he announced another diagnosis in the form of throat cancer. In 2014 he published his memoirs, titled after one of his most iconic phrases: ‘Up to here I can read’.
