Madonna reissues “Confessions”, improvised

Continuing with the reissues of Madonna’s discography, ‘Confessions on a Dancefloor’ (2005) will be reissued tonight in commemoration of its 20th anniversary. The album is visible on Spotify, although listening will not be available until midnight.

The reissue will only be produced in streaming format for now and, in addition to the original tracklist, will include three bonuses and five remixes. The “new” songs are ‘Fighting Spirit’, originally released on the «Confessions» boxset; ‘Super Pop’, exclusive bonus for Madonna’s fan club; and ‘History’, B-side of ‘Jump’. On the other hand, ‘Triggering’, the fourth discard from the album, is once again left out.

The launch seems improvised, since it will not be released in physical format. Warner does not seem to have put much effort into choosing a cover that does justice to the importance of the release or offering truly novel content for its fans. For example, the demo of ‘Keep the Trance’ has been leaked for years, but has not been recovered for this release. At least, it seems that the “uninterrupted” format of the original album would have been respected, which was also not available in streaming.
