Luna Ki claims that Ruth Empoderada has stolen her song

Ruth ‘La Peke’, her official stage name, is known for the song ‘EMPODERADA’, which we already discussed here a few months ago. Yesterday, Ruth released the sequel to the song, titled ‘I felt empowered’: a heartfelt piano ballad in which she claims that “they sold her diamonds that weren’t real.” That’s what Luna Ki is thinking, who has accused the singer and TikToker of stealing her song.

“I no longer feel so empowered and I want to explain why,” Ruth says in the song. X users couldn’t believe Ruth’s launch, with one stating that “not even the AI would dare to do something like that.” Luna Ki responded to this tweet, swearing that she was “in shock”: “I composed this entire song for you with my piano, voice, melodies and lyrics, we have it all recorded and you release it without crediting me or paying me, or even writing to me,” explains the artist in X.

His fans couldn’t believe it either, until he attached a series of screenshots of WhatsApp conversations with Ruth in which Luna sends him the lyrics and chords of the song. If we go to the credits of the song on platforms, we see that the song has three composers, among them Ruth, but no trace of Luna Ki.

Keeping her promise, Luna has uploaded a video to her Instagram account in which she appears teaching the song to Ruth, while she tries to follow the notes of the song and consolidate the melodies. In some parts, it seems like a sketch, but it is totally real: “I see this song as mine, for me,” exclaims Ruth. On the other hand, Luna Ki demands respect: “There is no room for hate in this, but I am not going to remain silent in the face of a robbery like this either.”

For those who still think that this is an advertising strategy, it turns out that the video for ‘I felt empowered’ has been removed from YouTube “due to a copyright claim filed by Luna Górriz Vila.” The last thing known about the dispute is from an Instagram Stories by Ruth Empoderada, who claims to be “receiving many insults and threats.”

She admits that “everything Luna Ki said” seems “correct” to her, but clarifies that she also has evidence: “If you don’t know two versions, don’t talk, but I’m not going to stay silent either,” she concludes.
