The Cordoban duo Les Blondes The countdown begins for their full-length debut scheduled for February 2025. And they do it with “Te would say no”, a perfect business card with which to glimpse that sophisticated pop in body and soul. The premiere is accompanied by a video clip that enhances the audiovisual strength of its proposal.
The style of Les Blondes looks like a combination of alternative rock, psychedelicand experimentalwith a focus on the visual and the emotional. The mix of distorted guitars, powerful drums, and melancholic lyrics creates a contrast that adds depth and complexity to their proposal.
I would say no seems to perfectly capture the emotional and sonic dynamics that characterize Les Blondes: the balance between the hypnotic and the explosive, containment and catharsis. I imagine that live it must be an impressive experience, where that final “runaway” elevates the audience to an immersive and chaotic experience. It begins with a drum groove and a hypnotic riff that repeat like a mantra, with Red Hot Chili Peppers-style funk influences. The lead vocal, with high notes and elaborate arrangements, is reminiscent of Arctic Monkeys, while the song structure, without a repetitive chorus, evokes bands like Cala Vento and Viva Belgrade. The track progresses musically and emotionally, culminating in a psychedelic and progressive ending. Its elegant and catchy production serves to expose an uncomfortable and unresolved reality in the lyrics.
In February 2025, it will see the light Royal Waterthe band’s first full-length. Composed of eight cuts of explosive alternative and experimental rock, which reaches the mainstream through an aesthetic as careful and elegant as it is rusty and corroded. Les Blondes will tour throughout 2025 presenting Royal Water.
Proof of the staging that accompanies Les Blondes live is this video clip made by Donaire Work in the Sala Fénix in Seville. Inside video!
Les Blondes It’s a big band. A big band of two. Backlit, dense and intense rock, under the direction of Gomichinwhich also carries the weight of the voice, the guitar and its 16 pedals; escorted by Charlie to the drums and the choirs; and bursts of flashes orchestrated in the rear.
