‘Lasso’ is no longer Lana del Rey’s country album

Lana del Rey is becoming less and less enthusiastic about the country flavor of ‘Lasso’. So much so that in a new interview with Vogue Italia he revealed that he needed a break in his creative process.

Although he recently revealed that there would be two more singles from the album before the end of 2024, this is no longer so clear. For now, we can enjoy his collaboration with Quavo on ‘Tough’, this being a mix of country and trap. In the interview, Lana says that the album could even end up with another name.

She reveals that she did not feel too attached to the album: «It had a narrative style that was too American. I put it on hold because I didn’t recognize myself in it. At first, the label and I were excited because the energy of the music should reflect my new life. Now, I’m not so sure,” she says.

Regarding the new path that ‘Lasso’ could follow, Lana already has something in mind: “I could turn it into something more southern gothic, as it should be from the beginning, and less country,” she says.

The author of ‘Did you know…’ also says that she feels disconnected when listening to songs like ‘Ride’ or ‘Video Games’: «I am entering a new era. It also happened with ‘Chemtrails’ and ‘Blue Banisters’. It has a lot to do with living in Oklahoma and feeling different. My eyes have seen open spaces, I have felt the wind and that is the type of energy I want to talk about now,” he concludes.
