Lady Gaga Elevates ‘Happy Mistake’ and Clarifies ‘Harlequin’ on Kimmel

Lady Gaga has visited Jimmy Kimmel’s show to promote both ‘Harlequin’, which she explained is not a “soundtrack”, and ‘Joker: Folie a Déux’. In this way, he has made an exciting version of ‘Happy Mistake’, one of the few original songs on the album and, since its release, the one that has aroused the most interest in the public.

For the performance, Gaga totally turns into Harley Quinn, with her ticks and erratic movements. Even so, it can be said that it is one of the times in which his voice has sounded the best, which is saying something, giving a performance that far surpasses the original material on the album.

The decision to continue playing his film character on stage comes from the original concept of ‘Harlequin’, which “is not the soundtrack” of the film: “It is a concept album and a companion piece for the film. Whether you listen to it before watching the film or after, it is an extension of the world,” he stated in the program.

To interpret her character, Gaga has also taken into account the fact that Harley is not “a trained singer”: “I worked a lot to develop her voice and find what was natural and raw for her. He has an internal storm and I wanted it to come from there,” he clarified.
