He Flamenco Festival New York its new edition starts tomorrow – the twenty -four number – with luxury performances and a tribute to Lorca.
From the 5 until March 15 They will happen in New York, but also in Miami, Chicago and San Francisco, more than twenty -six performances with seventy artists and twelve flamenco companies. The first of the concerts will be the inauguration with Kiki Morente and Carlos de Jacoba as protagonists.
From there you can see artists such as the Bailaores Manuel Liñán, Patricia Guerrero, Eva Yerbabuena, Sara Jiménez and Alfonso Lasa; The singers Marina Heredia and Turry; The fusion duo The square; And the companies South Zen and Spanish repertoire.
The festival will also offer a tribute to the legacy of Federico García Lorcain collaboration with the City Council and the Provincial Council of Granada.
The scenarios in which the performances will be developed are as emblematic as the New York City Center, Jazz at Lincoln Center or Kauffman Music Center/Merkin Concert Hall, to name a few. As usual, Flamenco Festival New York takes flamenco beyond the stages, developing other significant events and acts in New York City, as a symposium that will analyze the impact they had on Lorca’s work the African -American artists that the poet knew in Harlem.
Flamenco Festival New York 2025 is a project that has the support of INAEM, Ministry of Culture, Provincial Council of Granada, Granada City Council, Cervantes Institute, Spanish Cultural Action thanks to its program for the internationalization of Spanish culture (PICE), National Endowments for the Arts, Howard Gilman Foundation, The Jerome L. Greene Foundation, Marta Heflin Foundation, Graduate Center from the University of New York, General Consulate of Spain in New York and King Juan Carlos I of Spain Center.
