Kylie recreates iconic ‘Come Into My World’ video for Chanel

‘Come Into My World’ is not only one of Kylie Minogue’s top 4 songs. Its video directed by Michel Gondry was a small work of art, starring several Kylies wandering around a neighborhood in Paris.

25 years later, the video has been recreated for a Chanel campaign, specifically for the Chanel 25 bag. The protagonist is Margot Robbie (‘Barbie’, ‘Once upon a time… in Hollywood’), with the participation of Kylie herself and even directed by Michel Gondry. Of course, this time filming took place in Los Angeles, recreating Paris.

Vogue publishes a report on the event, citing statements from Michel Gondry: “I had been dreaming about Kylie for 25 years (…) So I finally found a way to see her again.”

More interesting is Margot Robbie’s statement: “For me it’s also like closing a circle, because the first concert I went to was Kylie Minogue’s “Fever” tour. ‘Come Into My World’ was one of the songs on that album, and Michel Gondry directed the video. I remember watching it when I was little and thinking it was very cool and very clever – the camera tricks that he’s so famous for. That’s what we recreate in this campaign. He is brilliant, an emblematic director. If I had to choose a favorite movie, I would say ‘Forget about me!'”
