Kavinsky’s ‘Nightcall’ is the most Shazamed song in a day

The closing concert of the Paris Olympics included a performance by Phoenix and appearances by Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig, Air, Angèle and Kavinsky, the latter of whom has made ‘Nightcall’ break the record for most searched song on Shazam in a single day.

‘Nightcall’ was released in 2010, but gained massive popularity after being included in the soundtrack of the film ‘Drive’, starring Ryan Gosling. The synth-pop anthem has topped the global Shazam charts after being played at the final ceremony of the Games, and has become the most Shazamed song in a day. For now, ‘Dance Monkey’ by Tones And I still holds the title of most Shazamed song in history.

Phoenix’s ‘Lisztomania’ takes the second spot on the Shazam global chart, followed by Billie Eilish’s ‘BIRDS OF A FEATHER’ in third place. This is due to the passing of the torch to Los Angeles, which featured shows from Eilish, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Snoop Dogg, from Long Beach.
