Without counting precursors and proto metal bands, Judas Priest They are the oldest heavy metal group on the planet, specifically, with half a century of music behind them. Now they return to our country with a four-date tour.
Taking that impressive fact into account, the quality of their latest releases is even more surprising, especially “Firepower” (18) and, this same year, “Invincible Shield” (24), published just fifty years after its debut “Rocka Rolla” (1974). New chapters that maintain with greater dignity than average the high bar of a legacy of incalculable influence in multiple branches of the genre.
To celebrate such an anniversary and the recent release of their new album, the Metal Gods, led by a seventy-two-year-old Rob Halford, will throw not one, but four resounding punches, like those on the cover of “Ram It Down”, on our stages. will be the next June 13 in Barcelona (Sant Jordi Club), a concert that has already sold out; on Saturday, June 15 in Pamplona (Navarra Arena); on Monday, June 17 in Madrid (Palacio Vistalegre), and at the Rock Imperium festival that takes place from June 19 to 22 in Cartagena.
On the first three dates they will be well shielded by two other classics of the genre, also British: saxonwho already accompanied Scorpions on their last tour in our country, and the seminal Uriah Heep. Both are also part of the impressive Rock Imperium lineup, in which we also find bands like Accept, Emperor, Extreme, Avantasia, Warlock or Carcassall of them most likely fans of the authors of “British Steel” (80).
