Joan Jett and Gaga, inspiration for Chappell Roan’s next single

Rolling Stone magazine has chosen Chappel Roan for its latest cover, and given the great year he’s having, it’s no surprise.

In the interview, the 26-year-old artist has spoken about her controversial statements about fame and her new lifestyle. For example, she mentioned that she and Sabrina Carpenter are supporting each other in their meteoric rise to fame. However, what was most interesting was the information she revealed about her next single.

‘Good Luck, Babe!’, released in April, peaked at No. 6 on the Hot 100 and was once considered one of the best pop songs of the year. It’s only natural that there’s a lot of anticipation for her next single. Roan’s shared list of influences is full of big names: “Everything I listen to – Joan Jett, Heart, Gaga – I want to feel like them. I’m inspired by that feeling and how to capture it.”

“The next single needs more determination, whether it’s pop, rock or with more biting lyrics,” the American added. She also gave some details about the “5 or 6” songs she already has prepared for her next album, the successor to ‘The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess’.

Roan refers to a country song, a dance song, an 80s song, an acoustic song and a final one with “70s live band vibes”: “It’s very strange,” he concluded.
