It’s a pity that Japandroids have decided to say goodbye. But until that happens definitively, let’s not stop listening to their new songs. Now they have shared “All Bets Are Off”, another of the songs that will be part of “Fate & Alcohol”the album with which they will say goodbye to us October 18th.
The group will bid farewell with an album that they consider a kind of gift for all those fans who have followed them over the years. In their own words, “we don’t think we’re the best band in the world technically speaking, and we don’t have the most original sound or are a band that takes on great challenges. But we’ve always put the utmost passion into what we do and I think that has resonated with many people. That’s why we’re grateful to be this kind of band for people, just as many other bands have been for us.”
Brian King (guitar and vocals) and David Prowse (drums and vocals) They make up one of the most beloved indie rock duos of the alternative scene. Since they emerged in the mid-2000s, they have given us a short but intense discography, made up of “Post-Nothing” (09), “Celebration Rock” (12), “Near To The Wild Heart Of Life” (17), the single compilation “No Singles” (10) and the direct “Massey Fucking Hall” (20).
Now he will join them “Fate & Alcohol”which will see the light of day October 18th via Anti Records. In addition to “All Bets Are Off,” the album will include the songs “Eye Contact High,” “D&T,” “Alice,” “Chicago,” “Upon Sober Reflection,” “Fugitive Summer,” “A Gaslight Anthem,” “Positively 34th Street,” “One Without The Other,” and “All Bets Are Off.” All songs were produced by the duo along with Jesse Gander. Let’s hope that we can at least see them in concert again before they finally split up.
