‘bully’ by Kanye West, now called Ye, has finally appeared on streaming platforms at different points of the weekend, containing samples of people like Carpenters or The Supremes. Among the credits we also find James Blake, who had collaborated with Kanye before, and now appears on the final song, ‘THIS ONE HERE’. Specifically, as an author and as a producer.
As NME reports, James Blake is asking to be removed from the credits, as he does not identify his work: “The way I changed the pitch of his voice and built the track from a freestyle is present in part, peppered mainly with other more recent vocal takes etc, but the spirit of my original production is practically absent.”
He continues: «my original version is completely different in spirit. “I’m happy for the fans but I’ve asked them to take away my producer credit because I don’t want to take credit for what other people have done and this is not what I created with Ye.”
He also clarifies that he says it without acrimony. «It’s not personal. “I’m just at a point where I don’t want to be credited in music whose outcome I can’t decide.”
On the other hand, to no one’s surprise, the song that is being promoted on playlists, added this Saturday at full speed for example to Today’s Top Hits, is ‘FATHER’ with Travis Scott. We leave you with him too.
