This year Alejandro Sanz has published an EP called ‘And now what?’ in which Shakira, Grupo Frontera and Manuel Turizo appeared. To the surprise around the world, with only 6 songs, it has ended up aspiring to album of the year in the Latin Grammys. We would say that there should not be too much level, but among the rest of the nominees we find Bad Bunny and Natalia Lafourcade. Next to nothing.
For its part, Rels B has achieved its first number 1 in Spain with the viral ‘You vás Sin (FAV)’. And now, they launch a joint theme.
‘Do not throw me flowers’ says the press release that is born of “the purest mutual admiration” and “of a natural and spontaneous artistic connection between the two artists.” Cabinet clichés apart, the truth is that both fit perfectly why we had not fallen into common. ‘Do not throw me flowers’ is a summer ballad with flamenquitos and R&B dyes that, by its guitar, or for its smell of summer breeze, pastes both in the repertoire of Alejandro Sanz, and in that of relas B. one could insert it perfectly before ‘heart partío’, and the other before ‘life without you’ (later, perhaps it was a bit low).
As if the two have just put ‘fragile’ of Sting, Alejandro and Daniel exhibit the most silky and delicate record of their voice, speaking in addition to the loneliness that the fame entails, and of course of love. “More friends I asked for this New Year / every day I have less, I lose more,” says Rels B. “Sometimes I just need to have my feet in the sand,” says Sanz’s stanza. “The best friendships are the ones that are least spoken, take me where everything is flowers, love me if it’s like I love you,” says another part of the lyrics.
The video was recorded in the National Auditorium of Mexico City on September 12, and has been led by Argentine filmmaker Diego Álvarez on a platform.
