Henry Méndez asks for forgiveness for having said “hate the reds”

Dominican singer Henry Méndez has starred recently for a concert in Marbella in which he shouted that “he hated the reds”, after saying “voting for those who want, vote to Abascal Oao Mariano Rajoy” (sic). The video has circulated through social networks, with its corresponding boos and cheers.

Madrid maintains the two hiring he has made to Henry Méndez with public money, despite the PSOE requests. The Almeida government has indicated that it does not share the “culture of cancellation”, although neither does its message. One of the shows is within the Hispanicity program, but the other is at the Villa de Vallecas parties, one of the few neighborhoods in which the left usually wins within the capital: in the last municipal, more Madrid, PSOE and we can add 52% of the votes.

Antena 3 has prepared a report in Vallecas with statements such as “it is a complicated neighborhood to say that, surely there will be a mess”, “I will tell you that they buy a tomato of these that are right now, and they are attached to tomatoes” or “as I can come and throw a tomato.” The show is on September 13, in the Municipal Auditorium of Las Trece Rosas, which just receives its name from 13 socialist women shot by the dictatorship of Francisco Franco in Madrid on August 5, 1939, several months after the Civil War has ended.

The City of Elda has decided to cancel Méndez’s performance due to “the unacceptable hatred statements made during an action”, as reported by the newspaper.

Perhaps in fear of losing more hiring or what can happen in free shows where anyone can enter, Henry Méndez has issued a statement through social networks. The singer now says that he does not keep “hate or resent anyone, regardless of skin color, religion, sexual condition, ideology or nationality.”

It is justified, then: “Simply, I tried to stop a situation that has been happening in innumerable musical events, where songs of hate are repeated to the president of the country who, for me, are annoying, because I do not tolerate the lack of respect for anything or anyone.”

Henry Méndez refers to the shout “Pedro Sánchez, son of a bitch” that has emerged in some events, in general of urban cut. His answer to stop something so “annoying” was to conclude that “he hated the reds.” Before what clarifies: “The video has not been published in its entirety, only the part in which, because of the awkward situation, I gave an unfortunate comment.” Indicates that he will perform a reels explaining better.

He also says: “I want to apologize to all the people who have felt aggravated by the comment that refers to a color strongly related to a political position.” And remember that «Spain is a free and wonderful country with incredible and heterogeneous people. That is why there must be freedom of expression and diversity of opinions and points of view, always from the perspective of ethics and respect ».
