Halsey is the ‘great imitator’ of icons: Kate Bush, Cher, Dolly Parton…

Halsey continues with the original promotion of her next album, ‘The Great Impersonator’. The singer has lived up to the name of the album, deciding to become the ‘great imitator’, but for real.

Thus, every day until the album’s release, on October 25, Halsey will be characterized as the music icons who have inspired her album. Today, she has also published ‘I Never Loved You’, inspired by Kate Bush. Halsey has chosen the iconic 1981 photograph in which the singer appears on a blue background and surrounded by fabrics of the same color to be recreated, and the result could not be better.

It all started a few days ago with the Dolly Parton imitation, also very successful. The song inspired by the country artist is ‘Hometown’, still unreleased. The second was PJ Harvey and his iconic 1995 cover for ID magazine. The song inspired by her is ‘Dog Years’. In addition, Halsey adds that it is “one of my favorite songs on the album” and that it is inspired by “one of the most influential artists in my life.”

Today, Halsey has surprised again by characterizing herself as Cher, which has influenced the song ‘Letter To God (1974)’. Halsey dedicates these words to her: «Undisputed queen. “One of my favorite Cher songs, ‘Dark Lady’, was No. 1 in 1974. Today, it’s still No. 1 in my heart.”
